Watch: Videos of Old Trafford suffering during rain fall ‘flood’ social media

So that’s why they call it Old Trafford…

Watch: All viral videos of Old Trafford floods and leaks

Heavy rainfall wreaked havoc on Manchester United's historic Old Trafford stadium on Sunday following their loss against Arsenal, causing significant leaks both in the roof and inside the buildings. The adverse weather conditions left parts of the stadium inundated, leading to concerns and questions about the health and safety the stadium currently provides.

A corner of the stadium’s structure, now referred to as the “Old Trafford Waterfall,” was seen aggressively pouring down onto the stands, leaving fans worried about upcoming matches where rain is present during the game.

Images and videos circulated on social media showed water pouring down from the ceiling, highlighting the severity of the situation.

Fans were seen diving into pools of water and making the most out of the wet conditions.

The iconic stadium faced unforeseen challenges inside its building as rainwater seeped through various sections of the stadium roof, creating pools of water around and within its interior spaces. The leaks apparently impacted facilities within the stadium, including dressing rooms, corridors, and other key areas.

A video, apparently taken by Arsenal staff, showed leaks coming from a roof coming from inside one of the dressing rooms.

Was Cristiano Ronaldo right about the current state of Man. United?

The events caused fans on social media to revive some of Cristiano Ronaldo’s statements about the state of the club in 2022, criticizing their facilities and infrastructure and saying they had not changed since he transferred out of United in 2009.

“Nothing changed since I left: the pool, the jacuzzi, even the gym, even some technology… I thought I would see new technology, infrastructure” said Ronaldo in an interview with Piers Morgan.

“I saw things I saw when I was 20!” he added.

Manchester United sold a reported 25% minority stake to British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe in December, with a large section of fans exclaiming the club to be sold completely.
