Sophia Wilson pregnant!? You read that correctly, the United States women’s national team striker and “Triple Espresso” member announced on Wednesday that she and her husband Michael Wilson are expecting.

Wilson, née Smith, had perhaps the greatest past year which included winning gold with the USWNT in Paris, marrying NFL receiver Michael Wilson and now announcing her pregnancy.

Toko Koga scored the go-ahead goal in the 50th minute to help Japan defeat the U.S. in San Diego on Wednesday to end the Americans' five-year reign as SheBelieves Cup champions.

The United States women’s national team opened their 2025 SheBelieves Cup campaign with a 2-0 victory against Colombia on Thursday at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas. The Ally Sentnor goal vs Colombia to double the lead was the big highlight of the match as the Utah Royals youngster scored with a phenomenal strike.

In the 60th minute the 21-year-old received the ball in Colombia’s final third and quickly torched two defenders before launching a rocket from 25 yards that left the goalkeeper with no chance.

TST is an annual 7-vs-7 tournament in Cary, North Carolina, where the winning team takes home $1 million. Solo, 43, announced she’s entering a team in the women’s tournament where she could face former teammates like Ali Krieger, Heather O’Reilly and Carli Lloyd who play for the US Women squad.

United States women’s national team star defender Naomi Girma looks set to become the most expensive women’s player in history. Women’s Super League giants Chelsea are closing in on the most expensive women’s transfer ever and pay San Diego Wave FC $1.1 million, per The Athletic.

Girma, 24, will surpass Bay FC’s Racheal Kundananji who previously held the highest transfer fee in women’s soccer with a $787,600 move from Madrid CFF.

United States women’s national team icon Alyssa Naeher was named the 2024 U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, finishing her international career on top.

Naeher, 36, was instrumental in the USWNT’s success in 2024 providing key stops in the Olympics, SheBelieves Cup and Concacaf W Gold Cup that ultimately led the U.S. to winning all three.

Recognition for her work last year came not only from U.S. Soccer as she was named the Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year and selected in FIFA’s Best Women’s XI lineup.

The United States women’s national team had an incredible 2024 winning their first Olympic gold medal in 12 years. The 2025 USWNT calendar might not have any major tournaments on schedule but will still be an important 12-month stretch.

In 2025 the sole tournament for the USWNT will be the SheBelieves Cup in February against top opponents Australia, Japan and Colombia.
