Rumors of Folarin Balogun joining the USMNT are at an all-time high — here’s why

Arsenal loanee Folarin Balogun is having a remarkable season in Ligue 1 with Reims. He’s scored 17 goals in 27 games (only two behind league leaders Jonathan David and Kylian Mbappé) and is firing on all cylinders.

The 21-year-old talent has a big decision to make in his career and that is who he will represent on the international stage. Balogun was born in New York City to Nigerian parents and raised in England. He’s eligible to represent the USMNT, England and Nigeria.

‘He’s not good enough to be in Chelsea’s first team’ Ray Hudson blasts Christian Pulisic

Top soccer commentator Ray Hudson went on a fiery rant about Chelsea and USMNT forward Christian Pulisic on Tuesday. Hudson spent about 100 seconds spilling all his ill-feelings about the American star on SiriusXMFC.

Let’s take a listen and break down some of his points.

Arsenal ‘11 finals’ away from Premier League title after dispatching Fulham

LONDON - Arsenal restored their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Fulham on Sunday and carved out a small slice of top-flight history in the process.

Gabriel Magalhães, Gabriel Martinelli and captain Martin Ødegaard all scored in the first half as the Gunners became the first team to win five consecutive away London derbies without conceding a single goal.

USMNT striker Haji Wright bags brace and assist vs. Kayserispor

USMNT and Antalyaspor striker Haji Wright scored twice and got an assist during Saturday’s Turkish Süper Lig game vs. Kayserispor where his side won 4-0.

Leeds USA draw Brighton, but we need to talk about Brenden Aaronson’s poor form

Leeds United sit in the relegation zone after drawing Brighton 2-2 at Elland Road on Saturday. Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson started for Leeds while Weston McKennie came on as a second half substitute.

We’ll get to showing the highlights here in a bit, but first we need to discuss yet another lackluster performance from Aaronson. The American forward transferred to Leeds from Red Bull Salzburg before the 2022-23 season and he’s arguably been a bust.

Leeds reportedly paid $30 million for him and in return he has produced one goal and two assists in 29 appearances.

Christian Pulisic makes first appearance in 61 days — here’s everything he did in short cameo

Chelsea defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday to win the tie 2-1 on aggregate and advance to the quarterfinals. American fans got to watch Gio Reyna and Christian Pulisic play in the match.

For Pulisic this was his first game for Chelsea in 61 days after suffering a knee injury vs. Manchester City at the start of the year. He would only get a short cameo for the Blues as he entered the game in the 83rd minute with his team leading 2-0.

High-flying Brentford get past Tim Ream's Fulham while attempting some butt flicks

You know it's heady times in the Premier League when Brentford versus Fulham makes for can't-miss TV, and that was the case in a Monday Night Football clash at Gtech Community Stadium that outlined why both clubs are safe from relegation and eyeing a place in Europe. The London derby was a five-goal barn burner.

Brentford flew out of the traps and earned a deserved lead in the sixth-minute. A barrage of early balls into Fulham's area had been met by Tim Ream, but the American defender could only watch in horror as his attempted block deflected beyond Bernd Leno.
