The United States will be the host nation for the 2031 Women's World Cup, FIFA president Gianni Infantino said on Thursday.

Infantino also announced that the 2035 global soccer competition will take place in the United Kingdom.

The U.S. submitted the only bid for 2031, while the joint bid from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland was the only "valid" bid for 2035, Infantino told the UEFA Congress in Belgrade, Serbia.

NEW YORK — FIFA and Netflix have signed a deal to broadcast the 2027 and 2031 editions of the Women's World Cup in the United States, world soccer's governing body said on Friday.

FIFA said the Women's World Cup will be the first competition to be acquired in full by Netflix and U.S.-based fans would be able to watch every match live.

BANGKOK — Brazil was declared host of the 2027 Women's World Cup after winning a vote at the annual FIFA Congress on Friday, beating the joint bid of Belgium, Netherlands and Germany to become the first South American country picked to stage the tournament.

The global players union found that one in three of those World Cup players earn less than $30,000 a year from soccer from their national team and clubs combined. That figure does not include the pre-tax $30,000 minimum World Cup prize money that players were guaranteed from FIFA.
