Pulisic returns to Chelsea XI and plays big role in reaching UCL round of 16

Chelsea travelled to Red Bull Arena and beat Salzburg 2-1 Tuesday night to clinch passage to the Champions League Round of 16 for the fourth straight year.

Christian Pulisic, making his first start since scoring against Wolves on Oct. 8, played a role in both goals, although they were spectacularly finished by Mateo Kovačić and Kai Havertz.

Leeds United States Of America Week 1: Aaronson, Adams Impress In Opening Win

The United States has never had a strong foothold in European soccer, much less the English Premier League. However, this year has seen a bit of shift — a revolution if you will — with Americans playing in England's first division at a tremendous rate. No team has made more waves than Leeds United.

Captain America: Is Jesse Marsch Planning A USMNT Takeover Of The Premier League?

After taking over at Leeds United in March, Jesse Marsch’s first task was survival. The Premier League’s real-life Ted Lasso inherited a Leeds side which had conceded 17 goals in four games and for which relegation seemed imminent. With a little bit of luck and a 94th-minute winner on the final day of the season to thank, Marsch and Leeds pulled off the seemingly impossible.

Brenden Aaronson Returns, Scores, Wins Austrian Title, Runs Away From Beer Shower

After six weeks out with a knee injury that forced him to miss the USMNT's last window of World Cup qualifying, Brenden Aaronson returned to the pitch with RB Salzburg on Sunday and converted a penalty while his club secured a ninth straight Austrian Bundesliga title with four matches remaining.

Aaronson hadn't played since going the distance in Salzburg's Austrian Cup semifinal win over Wolfsberger on March 16, but he returned to the starting lineup against Austria Wien and lasted 64 minutes.

Lewandowski Caps 11-Minute Hat Trick With Crotch Goal vs. Hapless Salzburg

Robert Lewandowski is the most clinical striker in men’s football right now. Give him half a chance and he’ll bury it. Give him three of the easiest chances in the world and he’ll have an 11-minute hat trick. He’ll even score one with his crotch, because why not?

Bayern Munich scored four first-half goals — three by Lewandowski — on the way to a 7-1 win over RB Salzburg to advance to the Champions League quarterfinals 8-2 on aggregate on Tuesday in Munich.

Brenden Aaronson Adds $20M To Price Tag With Standout Performance Vs. Bayern Munich

Remember when Leeds United tried to buy Brenden Aaronson from RB Salzburg for $20 million during the January transfer window? The Austrian club can now tell potential suitors to double that price after the 21-year-old American put on a show against Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round of 16 on Wednesday.

After navigating the group stage for the first time in Salzburg's history, the popular opinion was that Bayern was going to give the club a first leg beatdown along the same vein as Manchester City's 5-0 dismantling of Sporting.

Medford Messi Brenden Aaronson Scores And Helps Inspire Comeback In Austrian Bundesliga

USMNT star Brenden Aaronson scored his second Austrian Bundesliga goal of the season on Friday in a 2-1 comeback victory vs. Rapid Wien. After his team went behind in The18th minute (see what I did there), Aaronson led the charge in the second half.

In the 64th minute the “Medford Messi” equalized for Red Bull Salzburg with a well-placed finish. I must say I’m a big fan of the broadcast having a “Medford Messi” lower third graphic ready to go.
