England FA won’t light Wembley in Israel’s colors or allow Israel/Palestine flags inside

LONDON — Flags and shirts showing support for victims of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will not be allowed for England's games against Australia and Italy at Wembley, the FA said on Thursday.

England host Australia in a friendly on Friday before taking on Italy in a European Championship qualifier on Tuesday.

"On Friday evening, we will remember the innocent victims of the devastating events in Israel and Palestine," the FA said in a statement.

President of Colombian club Tigres FC shot and killed after team’s home loss

The president of Colombian second division club Tigres FC, Edgar Paez, was shot dead following his team's defeat on Saturday, the club have announced.

The 63-year-old was returning home by car with his daughter after the 3-2 home loss to Atletico FC when he was killed by two men on a motorbike close to the stadium, local media reported.

His daughter escaped unharmed and authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the murder.

Fan assaults goalkeeper during African Champions League game

Angolan club Petro Atlético's goalkeeper Hugo Marques was attacked by a spectator in the final minutes of his team's 2-0 defeat by holders Wydad Casablanca in the African Champions League on Saturday.

Video footage from behind the goal showed a man running on to the pitch and up to Marques, then saying something to the keeper before pushing him.

The two exchanged a flurry of punches before security guards and Marques's teammates intervened and the supporter was overpowered and taken off the pitch. The keeper was treated by doctors and the game restarted shortly afterwards.

PSG and Morocco star Achraf Hakimi under investigation for alleged rape

PARIS — Paris Saint-Germain right back Achraf Hakimi is facing a criminal investigation in France after an allegation of rape was made against him, an official from the Nanterre prosecution office said on Friday.

Hakimi, a Morocco international, firmly denied the allegation, according to his lawyer. PSG did not immediately reply to a Reuters request for comment.

The Nanterre prosecution office said Hakimi has been placed under police monitoring and was banned from contact with the alleged victim.
