U.S. U-17 squad sets Concacaf record with 22-0 beatdown of U.S. Virgin Islands

The United States U-17 squad set a ridiculous record of 22 goals scored in a single match against the U.S. Virgin Islands in a 22-0 victory on Monday in Concacaf U-17 men's World Cup qualifiers.

The American youngsters had already broke the record for most goals in an Concacaf tournament (youth or senior) in the first half with 14 GOALS. Columbus Crew 2 forward Chase Adams scored seven of the 10 first half goals.

Adams’ first half goals came in the eighth, ninth, 13th, 19th, 31st, 33rd and 38th minutes to pour on the misery.

Cavalry FC make history as first Canadian Premier League club to defeat a Liga MX side

History was made on Thursday in the Concacaf Champions Cup as Cavalry FC stunned Liga MX giants Pumas 2-1 in a first leg upset. No team from the Canadian Premier League (CPL) had ever defeated a Mexican club before.

In fact, no CPL club had ever won a Concacaf Champions Cup game prior to Thursday night.

Cavalry secured the victory 450 miles away from their usual home ground as the temperatures in Calgary were too cold to host the game. Instead the game was played in Langford, British Columbia.

LIVERPOOL — Holders Liverpool punched their return ticket to Wembley and a League Cup final against Newcastle United after a 4-0 rout, and 4-1 aggregate victory, over a toothless Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Thursday.

The runaway favorites took the lead, to overturn a 1-0 first leg deficit against the injury-depleted visitors, when Cody Gakpo fired in a right-foot shot in the 34th minute from a Mohamed Salah cross.

Neymar made his grand return to his boyhood club Santos on Wednesday playing his first game in three months after injuries ended his time with Al Hilal. Neymar came on in the second half for Santos and was immediately greeted by taking a ball to the nether regions.

Wednesday’s Paulistão match was also Neymar’s 33rd birthday. He received a standing ovation from the home fans in the Vila Belmiro when he was brought into the game. 

Neymar was then rocked in the peanuts just seconds later.

Forest move to 47 points after 24 games to consolidate third spot as they chase Champions League qualification, while Brighton are ninth on 34. Forest are now level with second-placed Arsenal, who host Manchester City in fourth on Sunday.

Cristiano Ronaldo can’t stop scoring as he found the back of the net once again for Al Nassr on Thursday in a 2-1 victory against Al Raed during a Saudi Pro League match. The goal was CR7’s 921st in his career.

Ronaldo will turn 40 on Wednesday and shows no signs of slowing his goal scoring. Thursday’s game marked his eighth game with a goal in Al Nassr’s previous nine games.

His latest goal saw him get the slightest touch on a set piece into the box to open the scoring in the 35th minute.

Epic backheel assist proves once again why Gio Reyna deserves to start for Dortmund

A superb Gio Reyna backheel assist vs. Shakhtar Donetsk helped Borussia Dortmund secure a 3-1 victory in the Champions League and once against made USMNT fans wonder why he doesn’t get more time.

Reyna was once again on the bench for Dortmund as he’s only started three games across all competitions this season for the German giants. 

The 22-year-old American was brought on as a substitute in the 64th minute and produced a lovely piece of skill just 15 minutes later.
