ESPN soundboard loses control and plays Among Us sounds during Boca Juniors game

Something went terribly awry during ESPN’s broadcast of Boca Juniors’ 3-0 victory in the Argentine Primera División on Tuesday. It’s not a good sign when “Boca Juniors Among Us” is trending.

Live sports production is a well-oiled machine that typically provides an easy viewing experience for fans (unless it’s trying to watch soccer on Paramount+).

People might not realize how little it takes for a broadcast to go screwy. It’s unclear what happened Tuesday night, but someone hit a couple of the wrong buttons during the Boca Juniors game.

Fans engulf the stadium in flames celebrating the worst game-winning penalty ever

A top-of-the-table clash between regional rivals Independiente Rivadavia and Deportivo Maipú in the Primera Nacional (Argentina's second tier) on Saturday night went viral for a number of reasons.

The must-see video is of Independiente supporters celebrating the approaching full-time whistle with an insane display of pyrotechnics. Incredibly, Deportivo Maipú almost scored an equalizer with the final kick of the match while all this was going on, but Independiente held on for a 2-1 win to supplant their rivals at the top of the Zone B table.

River Plate unveils statue in honor of Marcelo Gallardo – fans can't stop talking about the giant bulge in his pants

Here's the thing: Artists don't know how to create a proper statue of a soccer player, or those who try are not very talented. I mean, there are far too many examples of baller tributes becoming absolute fiascos, with the classic Cristiano Ronaldo bust leading the way.

Is this the dumbest penalty ever?

Being an experienced player doesn't mean you are immune to making a rookie-looking mistake. And proof of this sentence is Paolo Goltz, a 37-year-old center back, who recently gave away what people are calling "the dumbest penalty ever" in a game between Independiente and Colón in the Argentinian first division.

Dumbest penalty ever

The embarrassing moment for Goltz came in the 74th minute when the scoreboard was 1-1 and Colón was getting ready for a routine goal kick.

That's a golazo: River Plate scores one of the jewels of the weekend

A new season in the Argentine First Division began this weekend and River Plate celebrated the occasion with a 2-0 victory over Central Córdoba.

Ignacio Fernández – who returned to the team after a one-year stint with Atletico Mineiro – got on the scoreboard first, while winger Pablo Solari sealed the win with one of those goals you're happy to enjoy from different angles.

And yes, you're going to see it from a few of those angles.

Djorkaeff Reasco Scores Screamer From 40 Yards Causing Commentator To Immediately Orgasm

Something must be in the water at Newell’s Old Boys. Just two weeks after Pablo Pérez scored a worldie, his teammate Djorkaeff Reasco scored a Puskás candidate of his own against Gimnasia as his side won 2-0.

Juan Román Riquelme's Nephew Scores From Deep Inside His Own Half Against River Plate

During a distinguished playing career with Boca Juniors that included five Primera División titles and three Copa Libertadores triumphs, Argentine legend Juan Román Riquelme made a habit of destroying rival River Plate.

He loved nothing more than snatching the souls of lost Millonarios

Pablo Pérez Just Scored The Goal Of The Century

Nothing else matters right now. Pablo Pérez of Newell’s Old Boys has just etched his name on the 2022 Puskás Award.

The 37-year-old (yes, you read that right) scored the stunner in the 10th minute as Newell’s Old Boys lost 2-1 to Godoy Cruz in the Argentine Primera División.

Player In Argentine Primera División Scores Insane 77-Yard Thunderbolt That Only Bounces Once

Take a bow Mateo Coronel!

The 23-year-old midfielder for Atlético Tucumán in Argentina’s top flight scored one of the most impressive long-range goals this writer has ever seen during a 4-0 victory Tuesday night.

A typical goal from distance is around midfield and catches the goalkeeper out. Other long-range goals are ones like we saw from Union Omaha’s goalkeeper on Saturday that took two bounces before trickling into the goal.

Child Invades Pitch To Console Defeated Goalkeeper

Defensa y Justicia suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Boca Juniors on Sunday evening, a fifth straight match without a win in Argentina’s Primera División. Luis Vázquez dinked the winner past keeper Ezequiel Unsain in the 92nd minute to secure all three points for the visitors.

After the final whistle blew, Unsain fell to his knees, disconsolate over his role in the defeat.

The goalkeeper was then consoled not by a teammate, coach or even an opponent, but by a young boy from the stands. A child pitch invader consoled Unsain, and the touching moment was caught on camera.
