Watch: Weston McKennie assists Tim Weah vs. Real Madrid for his first Juventus goal

Weston McKennie and Timothy Weah showed out during Juventus’ 3-1 preseason friendly victory vs. Real Madrid on Tuesday. McKennie was named man of the match while Weah scored his first Juventus goal, assisted by McKennie.

Let’s get straight to what you USMNT fans want to see and look at the McKennie assist to Weah.

With Juventus leading 1-0, McKennie made a darting run into the Madrid box and then put it on a plate for the wide open Weah.

McKennie assists Weah vs Real Madrid

McKennie nearly had a goal of his own in the opening minute when his shot deflected off the post. Luckily for Juve, the ball fell right to the foot of Moise Kean who scored a tap-in.

McKennie played a total of 66 minutes and received praise from his manager, Massimiliano Allegri.

Initially it looked like Juventus weren’t interested in keeping McKennie on the roster for next season. He spent the second half of the 2022-23 campaign with Leeds United on loan. His performances were so-so, and Leeds were relegated. Rumors said that McKennie wasn’t involved in Juve’s 2023-24 plans and that he wouldn’t even get an invite to the preseason tour in the U.S.

Fast forward to the beginning of August and he’s proving why he belongs in Turin.

Great stuff from McKennie.
