West Ham Fans Name Inanimate Object Their Man Of The Match

West Ham fans are devoted, rowdy and funny as hell. This isn’t based solely off of Green Street Hooligans, it’s a verifiable truth. For a club that’s never finished higher than third in England’s top tier and whose last major triumph came in the 1980 FA Cup, it’s remarkable that they still draw nearly 60,000 fans a game at the London Stadium.

Hammers fans are desperate for success, but nothing breeds a better sense of humor than long periods of misfortune. This resulting dark humor was on full display following West Ham’s extremely fortunate 1-0 victory over Hull City on Saturday.

Hull City hit the post on three occasions, but West Ham got all three-points after a contentious penalty decision allowed Mark Noble to convert from the spot.

Following the match, West Ham’s official Twitter account asked supporters who should be named man of the match. West Ham fans had absolutely no doubt, awarding nearly 60 percent of the vote to one consummate performer.

Credit to West Ham’s social media team for following through on the vote as well.

The post-match activities also included a brilliant interview between James Corden and Noble.
