There Is No Rational Reason For These French Third-Division Goals To Be So Incredible

French football is lighting our brains on fire right now, from PSG setting transfer fee records and securing some of the most exciting talents in the world to a the national team being a legitimate contender for this summer’s World Cup. And if you needed any more evidence of the talent on display in the country, take a look at two of the most absurd goals you’ll ever see, both scored in the same French third division match.

Entente SSG and Lyon Duchere AS faced off in a French third division match on Friday, with the former seeking its first win of 2018. It appeared the visitors were on their way to that win in part thanks to an incredible bicycle kick from 25-year-old Frenchman William Sea.

It’s at this point I wish I knew some French to make some sort of comment in the language that appropriately sums up wow factor of that strike.

Entente SSG eventually grabbed the lead and was holding on until just about the last kick of the game when another Frenchman, 26-year-old Matthieu Ezikian, sweetly struck a first-time volley off a corner kick from 22 yards out to salvage a draw for Lyon Duchere AS.

Again, insert French phrase here, something about magnifique or bonjour. Voulez-vous coucher avec moi (ce soir)?

The match finished 2-2 thanks to those two cracking goals. Oh, and they weren’t even the only incredible goals from the Championnat National, the French third division, on Friday. Said Id Azza smashed this long-range missile to give US Concarneau a 2-1 lead.

French third division soccer may not sound that appealing, but we may have to start following this league more. Je ne sais quoi. Allons-y!
