Barcelona fans boo Ousmane Dembele’s every touch — then he sends them out of the competition

Ousmane Dembele cemented himself as one of Barcelona’s biggest villains on Tuesday during Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-1 victory (winning 6-4 on aggregate) to send the Catalan side out of the Champions League.

The Frenchman and former Barcelona player scored one of PSG’s four goals, drew a penalty and won man of the match to send his previous club packing. He was undoubtedly the most booed and hated player inside the Estadi Olimpic in Barcelona.

The Blaugrana faithful were furious when Dembele scored and celebrated against his former club in the first leg of the fixture in Paris. He had broken the unwritten rule of celebrating against a former club.

Barcelona had tried to support him during his struggles with the club, even wearing kits with his name on the front several seasons ago.

His celebration after scoring in the first leg enraged Barcelona fans who called for giving him “the Figo treatment” in the second leg.

Dembele looked rattled initially during Tuesday’s game as Barcelona took an early lead, he was whistled with every touch and he was quite literally falling over the ball.

Then he locked in.

Dembele got his side within one on aggregate with a vicious strike in the 40th minute. He celebrated against his former club yet again and then grabbed the ball to restart the action.

His work wasn’t done yet as he would draw the penalty kick to give PSG the winning goal of the tie. Dembele drew in João Cancelo who brought down the Frenchman in the box. Dembele had a wry smile on his face after PSG were awarded the penalty kick which Kylian Mbappé smashed into the net.

PSG cruised past 10-man Barcelona with four unanswered goals and will meet Borussia Dortmund in the semifinal.
