Jurgen Klinsmann Is Bringing The USA's Young Players Along Slowly But Surely

OK, let's get the qualifiers out of the way before we jump into any analysis: St. Vincent is terrible at soccer and so are the Grenadines. You can't really learn anything from how anyone played in a game between such mismatched opposition.

We can learn, though, from who played. Because Clint Dempsey is out, USMNT manager Jurgen Klinsmann started Bobby Wood up top with Jozy Altidore. Both scored.

Klinsmann's subs were even more interesting: Christian Pulisic, Jordan Morris and Sacha Kljestan and also Sacha Kljestan's moustache got into the game and combined for three goals (two from Pulisic, one from Kljestan).

When Klinsmann took over as coach and technical director of the USMNT, the expectation was for him to make the team both younger and more creative. Pulisic, Morris and Wood are all young, and Kljestan is one of the most creative players in the MLS, which makes their inclusion and play a cause for hope.

If Klinsmann plays Chris Wondolowski over any of the above against Trinidad and Tobago Tuesday, though, forget we said anything.
