Jose Mourinho Has Reportedly Outlawed Pokemon Go

The headlines of 2016 continue to amaze and bewilder in equal measure. Now, we’ve reached peak-2016 with the announcement of Jose Mourinho banning Pokemon Go before matches.

That’s right. A “source” has informed the Daily Star that Mourinho is determined to have his players focused on the task at hand and not on triumphing at the Old Trafford gym.

Although hatching eggs by walking and running could certainly motivate Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger in the midfield, Mourinho is not a fan of Pokemania.

“He says for 48 hours before a match, he wants the guys to leave it alone and concentrate on the tactics he and his staff have been working on in the days before,” claims the source.

Mourinho has had a mixed preseason with Man United so far. They defeated Wigan 2-0 on July 16th but were hammered by Borussia Dortmund 4-1 on July 22nd.

They were scheduled to play Manchester City today, but the match has been canceled because of an unplayable pitch in Beijing.
