Ernesto Valverde Officially Named Barcelona Manager

Former Valencia and Athletic Bilbao manager Ernesto Valverde has officially been named manager of Barcelona, replacing Luis Enrique.

Valverde had a brief spell with Barcelona during his playing career, scoring eight goals in 22 appearances. He also played for Sestao, Espanyol, Athletic Bilbao and Mallorca. He has managed Athletic Bilbao, Espanyol, Villarreal, Olympiacos and Valencia.

He will have to win right away at Barcelona after a disappointing season saw the Blaugrana bounced in the Champions League quarterfinals by Juventus and beaten to the La Liga title by Real Madrid.
