Since August 28, Edinson Cavani has 25 goals in 25 appearances for club and country. A lot of people say that he is bad because he misses a lot of big chances. They are magnifying the big chances and not watching the whole game. Edinson Cavani is actually good.
I used to be one of these people. I thought Edinson Cavani was bad. I was wrong. He is good. He is a striker and he scores a lot of goals, which as a striker is literally his only job. This is especially true for a team like PSG that has a lot of creators like Angel di Maria and Marco Verratti whi just need someone to finish off the move.
The only real criticisms of Cavani have come from comparisons with other strikers. When he plays for Uruguay he's compared with Luis Suarez, which is unfair because Luis Suarez is the best number nine in the world. Edinson Cavani is borderline top five, and that's fine. When he plays for PSG he's compared with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is the best player in PSG history and one of the most talented players in the world. Edinson Cavani is not a 6'5" Tae Kwon Do black belt so why should he be compared with one?
Edinson Cavani is decent at finishing, but he is very good at getting open and extremely skilled. He is underrated. He is actually good.
