Denmark Might Score A Sweet Deal On A World Cup Hotel Because Of Italy

Italy, oh Italy.

Italy did not qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, but they reserved a hotel to serve as the team's base all the same. Now, they're on the hook.

Fortunately for Italy, Denmark DID qualify for the World Cup, and are now in the market for a hotel to serve as the team's base this summer. You can see where this is going.

"Now there is a big difference between the preferences of the Danes and Italians, but it is clear that we can end up in a situation where we must get what we can get," said Danish FA CEO Claus Bretton-Meyer.

This is sounding like a match made in soccer heaven. And defender Jens Stryger Larsen, who plays for Udinese, and forward Andreas Cornelius, who plays for Atalanta, can tell their Italian teammates all about the hotel when they get back for pre-season next year.
