Chelsea Fans Force Black Man Off Train

Let's be honest. Almost no one likes Chelsea  arguably not even Chelsea’s fans like Chelsea. People around the world have notoriously little respect for the anyone associated with the club. We would like to think that there are good Chelsea fans — in fact we know there are, our faith in humanity hasn’t been decimated to that extent...

…but the world is trying awfully hard to finish it off. Watch as a bunch of Chelsea fans prevent a black man from boarding a train in Paris before their club’s match against Paris Saint-Germain:

Our inner optimist, ever present until the last, hoped against hope that these fans were just assholes preventing someone from getting onto a crowded train. There was nothing to necessarily single this out as a racially-motivated act except the color of the man’s — but then this chant:

“We’re racist, we’re racist and that’s the way we like it.”

Who says that! Who could possibly have so little understanding of their actions, of history and social issues, of just plain common decency that they would ever think that, “We’re racist, we’re racist and that’s the way we like it,” could ever be something to proudly say?

Have they ever once been able to see themselves as other people see them? If they have caught a glimpse of this, were they so repulsed by what they saw that they forbid themselves from ever doing it again? Are they even capable of such higher thinking?

Good and honest Chelsea fans of the world, we are genuinely sorry that you are associated with this scum.
