Carlos Tevez Remains An Absolute Animal At Club Level

Boca Juniors retained their place at the top of the Argentine Primera Division table by defeating rivals River Plate in the Superclasico on Sunday. Carlos Tevez was instrumental in Boca’s success, scoring a brace and registering his sixth assist in 10 league appearances in their 4-2 victory at River Plate’s El Monumental stadium.

The 32-year-old made headlines earlier this week when he revealed that he’d been mulling retirement. While a rumored big money move to China has been floating around, Tevez was quoted as saying “I’ve got too much of a muddle in my head to think if in February or March I’m going off to play in China. I don’t just think about leaving, I could also retire. When the year is over I’ll see what’s best.”

Based on the evidence of Sunday’s performance, Tevez still retains the dynamism that saw him score 29 goals in 47 matches for Juventus during the 2014-15 season. His goal in the 81st minute gave Boca a 3-2 lead, and it was an absolute screamer.

Tevez has scored four goals and registered six assists for Boca this season while also serving a three-match ban after cursing out referee German Delfino. Don't ever change, El Apache.
