Anyone Who Has Had A Knee Injury Will Sympathize With Andres Iniesta's Message

Andres Iniesta is a consummate players’ player — his injury was felt around the planet as the loss of the Barcelona star is a loss to football as a whole. The knock he took against Valencia could’ve been a lot worse, but Iniesta is still expected to miss six to eight weeks.

At 32, serious damage to his lateral collateral ligament would’ve been devastating, and his presence was sorely missed in Barcelona’s loss to Manchester City in the Champions League.

However, Iniesta’s recovery appears to be on track after he posted this message to his Twitter page:

“Next step! You have helped me a lot but I never want to see you again.”

For anyone who’s ever been sidelined with a knee injury and forced into the confines of a cumbersome brace, you can appreciate the message from Iniesta.

This is a great day for him personally and great news for football on the whole. In a perfect world, Iniesta would be ready to return to action in time for the December 3rd La Liga clash with Real Madrid, but Barcelona are blessed with the talents of players like Arda Turan, Andre Gomes and Denis Suarez to deputize.

The injury is also a blow to the Spanish national team, who’ll be without their talisman for a World Cup qualifier against Macedonia and a friendly against England.
