Americans Abroad: Geoff Cameron Comes Up Big For Stoke City

England

Geoff Cameron came on in the 62nd minute for Stoke City, and helped set up the Coppers’ winning goal against Swansea. This was Cameron’s first outing for Stoke City since August because of an injury, but if Cameron’s performance against Swansea is any indication, he will probably see his playing time increased pretty quickly.

Tim Howard’s Everton squad beat Brad Guzan’s Aston Villa side 3-0. It was the third straight time Howard has beaten Guzan head-to-head.

Jozy Altidore sat out, probably to his benefit, of Sunderland’s 8-0 walloping at the hands of Southampton. He probably needs to find a new team soon.

Norway

Mix Diskerud left Rosenborg’s 3-2 victory over Valerenga in the 36th minute with a leg injury. No word on how long he’ll be out.

Bob Bradley managed Stabaek to a 1-1 tie with Viking, good enough to keep his club away from the relegation zone.

Germany

Fabian Johnson played the last 15 minutes for Borussia Monchengladbach in their win over Hannover 96. Borussia Monchengladbach remain undefeated so far in the Bundesliga this season.

Timmy Chandler subbed into Eintracht Frankfurt’s 3-1 loss to Paderborn in the 68th minute. Neither of the two goals Paderborn scored after Chandler came on were his fault. The loss dropped Eintracht Frankfurt down to eighth place in the Bundesliga.

John Brooks played the last 20 minutes for Hertha Berlin in their 2-0 loss to Shalke. It was Brooks’s first Bundesliga appearance in a month after being sent down to the reserves then called back up.

Mexico

Jose Torres and Herculez Gomez both started in Tigres’s win over Cruz Azul Saturday, with Gomez playing 75 minutes and Torres the full 90. The win put Tigres into fourth place and square into the playoff battle.

Edgar Castillo has played every minute so far this season for Atlas, including 90 Saturday in their 2-0 loss to Toluca.

Michael Orozco played right back the first 70 minutes of Puebla’s 1-1 draw with Leones Negros, but came off when it became apparent the team needed more offense.
