On a day when many (including those of us at The18) are focused on the amazing 400th goal of Lionel Messi for FC Barcelona, it's nice to see someone just starting out his career score an amazing goal as well. In this case, 19-year-old Egyptian youngster Karim Hafez just scored one of the better free kicks we've seen in a while. In a fight with his Belgian club Lierse to avoid relegation, Hafez came through when it mattered with this arching free kick from a tough angle on the right flank:
Hafez should sleep a little better tonight knowing that the goal he scored may keep his club safe from relegation next season.
