Zlatan Scores 9 Minute Hat Trick, Wins League, And Then Says He’s Leaving PSG

Paris Saint-Germain destroyed Troyes 9-0 today in Ligue 1. The lopsided scoreline was a fitting one considering the accomplishment it accompanied: PSG are now the fastest-ever Ligue 1 champions, wrapping up the league with 8 games to go. Zlatan Ibrahimovic had four goals, including three in 9 minutes. Before Zlatan's goals vs Troyes happened, he set up Javier Pastore with a sweet back heel pass, to which Pastore responded in kind with a cheeky chipped goal.

Then of course came Zlatan’s goals vs Troyes. The match was already decided when Zlatan started scoing, but that didn’t seem to deter him from giving anything less than maximum effort.

Zlatan would add a fourth in the 88th minute as well:

If you thought that the performance would end once the final whistle blew, then you don’t know Zlatan.

After the match Zlatan said that he will not be with PSG next season

"For the moment, I will not be at PSG next season. I still have a month and a half left here.

"If they replace the Eiffel Tower with a statue of me, then I will stay. I promise."

Whether or not this is a ploy to simply get the most out of his next contract, we can’t be sure. PSG president Al-Khelaifi seems intent on keeping Zlatan in Paris, however.

“Paris is magic, Ibra is magic. We want Zlatan to stay," he said. "We will speak with him."

Better start building that tower just to be safe, Al-Khelaifi.
