You Can Bet On Who Luis Suarez Will Bite Next. Seriously.

This Saturday Luis Suarez will likely make his debut for Barcelona as the Blaugrana travel 378 miles to the Bernabeu to take on Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid in the season's first installment of El Clasico.

Should Suarez suit up, it will be the start of a new chapter for the Uruguayan who has been banned for the last four months after he bit Giorgio Chiellini at this summer’s World Cup. Do you have a feeling Luis’s appetite will get the best of him during the match? Then you're in luck. Paddy Power has come out with odds on "who Luis Suarez will bite next." Here is an overview from Paddy Power showing the odds. The Miley Cyrus odds are fantastic and we *recommend you place your entire life savings on it. (*We do not recommend this at all.)

The Daily Mirror reports that there are odds on when and where Suarez will bite next as well:

When will Suarez bite a player?

  • 100/1 0.01 to 23.00 minutes
  • 33/1   23.01 to end of first half
  • 25/1   Start of second half to 68.00 minutes
  • 25/1   68.01 minutes to final whistle

Where will Suarez bite a player?

  • 33/1   Arm
  • 33/1   Shoulder
  • 40/1   Leg
  • 40/1   Hand
  • 50/1   Back
  • 100/1 Foot

Jokes aside, what is going to happen in this new chapter of Luis Suarez’s career? Will he even start Saturday?

We think he should. After the £65 million spent on him, he already seems like a better option than Pedro up front with Leo Messi and Neymar. Suarez is coming off a 31-goal season that earned him the Golden Boot award (along with Cristiano Ronaldo) and looking at the state of Liverpool right now, you can see that they miss Suarez’s ability to create goal scoring situations.

Suarez will be a great replacement for Pedro on the right side as he will tirelessly work the flank, creating chances for himself and Messi and Neymar. It will obviously take time for this trifecta to get clicking, but look what Suarez did for Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling. Those two aren’t in the same class and Messi and Neymar, which only breeds more excitement for Blaugrana fans. The Brazilian and Argentine already have superb chemistry on the pitch, and their talent will feed their South American brethren with ease. They’re all great scorers, but their passing abilities are just as lethal. Messi already has 9 assists through 11 games. Neymar only has 1 this season, but had 8 assist in 19 La Liga appearances last year. Suarez had 12 last season with Liverpool. They are all relatively selfless players who just want to win.

Bottom line? The hype is there and the potential is also there. The first thing for Suarez to focus on is his fitness. A week ago Suarez was asked if he was 100% fit and if he could actually play in El Clasico. He replied with:

“If you had asked me before the international break, I might have said ‘no,’ but I feel good after those games. They did me good. Yes, I think I’m at 100%.”

The Catalan papers say he will start and an online poll said that 70% of fans believe he should start. It is just another storyline that is El Clasico. Be sure to tune in Saturday 12:00 PM ET on the beIN network.
