Tijuana Had Such A Bad Season They Transfer-Listed Their Entire Team

Miguel Herrera's tenure at Club Tijuana has not gone to plan so far, but as usual "El Piojo" has found a way to capture our attention.

Club Tijuana finished 14th in the 2016 Clausura, and that, evidently, was not good enough for management. You hear of clubs needing offseason "overhauls" but we've never seen it taken quite this far: Tijuana have transfer-listed every single player on the roster.

Here's the full release on Club Tijuana's website:

TIJUANA (May 30, 2016) –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles officially announces that all the players on the current roster are eligible for transfer for the upcoming LIGA MX 2016 Clausura season.

The Xoloitzcuintles begin the preseason June 6 at Estadio Caliente where players will undergo physicals and medical measurements as part of the first phase of the preseason. Club Tijuana will then hold camp on the beaches of Mazatlan, Mexico June 9 to 19.

Meanwhile, there are two confirmed preseason games, both in the United States. The Xoloitzcuintles face Club Santos Laguna June 24 at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah, the home of Major League Soccer’s Real Salt Lake.

The second friendly is June 29 against Cruz Azul at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

How many of these players will ultimately be sold remains to be seen, but with Miguel Herrera in the fold, anything is possible for Los Xolos.
