Both the goalie and the defender here are going to be thinking about this goal for a long time, and it is going to keep them awake at night. It's even more unfortunate that they're youth players, because this is the type of moment that can ruin a promising career, either through coaches deciding they've seen enough or dissolution of confidence.
We, for one, hope these youngsters can bounce back from this, but it won't be easy. And they will get made fun of a lot, because that own goal was hilarious.
