Mexico advances in the Gold Cup: Is the fix in at CONCACAF?

Seriously, is the Gold Cup fixed? Miguel Herrera earlier claimed various forces were against Mexico in the tournament, but now it looks like various forces (and by "forces, we mean "referees") want Mexico to win win the Gold Cup more than they want anything in the world.

First, there was this penalty, which we'll call "dubious."

I can see it both ways. But the Costa Rican team, and various Costa Rican politicians, were pissed.

Then, good lord, we had this.

They won in extra time on a real penalty. But back to the ridiculous one. We have no comment, we'll let the Panamanians comment for us.

"CONCACAF Ladrones" translates to "CONCACAF thieves," and yes the team made that banner immediately after the game ended. Miguel Herrera admitted the call was wrong and Andres Guardado said he considered missing the PK on purpose.

It's not like this is a new issue. During the U.S. game, as soon as the USA got back to within one goal of the Reggae Boyz, the jokes started flying on Twitter.

At least, they were half-joking. We think.

CONCACAF has long been dominated by the U.S. and Mexico, and from certain perspectives it's seemed like the powers that be want it to stay that way. What do you think?
