He Struck The Perfect Ball, And Then Broke Down In Disbelief At What He Had Just Acheived.

It’s not everyday that you see a goal that seems to generate power on its own, but that’s precisely what Vitoria de Setubal’s Hyun-Jun Suk provided when he scored against Academica in the Portuguese First division the other day. 

It starts off realistically enough with a simple step over. At this point, there was no indication that anything special was about to happen, because that move was about as bland as a step over can be. It worked, he played it well, and that’s about it; the “defender” jogged on by.

And then: 

I’ve seen it again and I still don’t quite understand it. Suk barely follows through when he hits the ball, which seems to speed up after it has taken flight. This is the kind of goal that makes people wonder if the ball wouldn’t have just kept on rising to infinity had there not been a net there to stop it. Judging by Suk’s reaction, he might be one of those people.
