Chicharito’s Hand Got Really Messed Up, But His Return Date Has Been Determined

Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez has taken to Twitter to reveal that the surgery he required after falling down the stairs of his home has been completed.

Chicharito is now recovering after the “perfect” surgery, confirming that the original timeline of a return in two week’s time is still the expected outcome.

Fortunately for Chicharito, Leverkusen and Mexico, the results of the surgery did not render him into Hanson from Scary Movie 2.

Unfortunately for Chicharito and Bayer Leverkusen, the Mexican striker will certainly miss Leverkusen’s Bundesliga opener against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.

In a twist of good fortune, Hernandez will then be allowed sufficient time to recover without missing anymore German league action due to the early September international break.

El Tri will not miss their star striker either, Mexico has already qualified for the ‘Hex’ and manager Juan Carlos Osorio has named an inexperienced forward line for the matches against El Salvador and Honduras.

Accordingly, Chicharito will be targeting a September 10th return against Hamburg — Leverkusen’s second Bundesliga match. Most important for Leverkusen is to have Chicharito fully fit and match ready for their September 14th Champions Leage group stage opener against CSKA Moscow.
