Giovani Dos Santos Recreated His Gold Cup Golazo..Kinda
Gio Dos Santos is back to chipping goalkeepers and it was awesome.
We all remember Giovanni Dos Santos breaking the hearts of U.S. Soccer fans everywhere in the 2011 Gold Cup. It was one of those goals where you are so mad at what just happened, but it was just so damn beautiful that all you could do was sulk your head and give credit where credit is due. Well, the 26-year-old from Monterrey, Mexico was back at it again this past weekend vs Real Salt Lake. After coming off of his first two goal performance since joining the MLS, Dos Santos recieved a pass from Emmanuel Boateng and channeled his Gold Cup moment from 5 years ago. Again, using his left foot, Dos Santos lofted a perfect chip from about 15 yards to beat Real Salt Lake and USMNT keeper, Nick Rimando. Bravo, Gio. Bravo.
